As the world’s largest student innovation & entrepreneurship competition, the Hult Prize is called the Nobel Prize for Students by the international media. It has also been included in the cover story of Time Magazine as one of the 5 Ideas That Are Changing the World (for the better). It aims to lead a new generation to change the world through sustainable business models. Based on the million-dollar ultimate prize, the Hult Prize Foundation is committed to helping young people become leaders that drive world change. It has provided a lot of support & training to over 2.1 million students worldwide to cultivate their leadership & innovative thinking.
The Hult Prize is jointly promoted by the United Nations and Hult International Business School. A social problem that needs an urgent solution is set as the theme of its annual competition every year.
1. Hult Prize Impact Summit 2021 Shenzhen
Shenzhen in China is a miracle in the history of urban development in the world. It is also a symbol & epitome of China's reform & opening up. Over the past 40 years, Shenzhen has moved from manufacturing to technological innovation. Faced with opportunities and challenges in different eras, the people of Shenzhen have the guts to try and be the pioneer in the world, making the impossible possible. The Shenzhen miracle today is based on the city’s cores of reform and innovation. It has become a vibrant first-tier city in China with a population of tens of millions and an international metropolis and innovation center full of the impetus for innovation. Its economic volume has grown from less than 200 million yuan in 1979 to 2.7 trillion yuan in 2019, ranking third in the country, and its per capita GDP ranks first in the country.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) has been committed to cultivating students' comprehensive qualities and innovative thinking and hopes to train talents with an international vision and knowledge by introducing world-leading innovation competitions.
In 2021, our university stood out from over 100 world-leading universities and institutions with its shortlisted proposals and became the only university in mainland China that is qualified to host the 2021 Hult Prize Impact Summit. It is the first Chinese university to host the Hult Prize Impact Summit. Meanwhile, this is also the first time for Shenzhen, a young and innovative city, to host the Hult Prize Impact Summit.

Wonderful Pre-match Activities
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) will hold a series of pre-match activities such as training & coaching for the regional to be held on April 23, 2021. Guests from the World Health Organization, university professors, and corporate founders will be invited. The exciting activities will provide all-round & targeted training for the participating teams and help improve the projects of those entrepreneurial teams, including workshops, guidance from mentors, conversations about hot topics and other pre-match coaching.
The final will be simultaneously broadcast globally via the Tencent live streaming platform. We plan to invite leaders from the Technological Innovation Bureau of Shenzhen and that of Longgang District, the Development & Reform Bureau of Longgang District, Shenzhen, and the Industrial & Information Technology Bureau of Longgang District, Shenzhen to attend the event. When the time comes, the president, the vice president and other leaders of the university will also watch the competition. Many outstanding entrepreneurs and industry big shots from Shenzhen and other parts of China will discuss creative proposals with students to promote entrepreneurial development.

3. Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) & Hult Prize
Since 2018, the Center for Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship (CIDE) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and the Hult Prize Foundation have successively co-organized 5 challenges, namely, the Greater Bay Area Hult Prize 2018 Challenge, the 2018 Hult Prize On-Campus Challenge, the Greater Bay Area Hult Prize 2019 Challenge, the 2019 Hult Prize On-Campus Challenge, and the 2020 Hult Prize On-Campus Challenge, attracting a total of 500 participants from over 25 universities in the Greater Bay Area. The events have had over 1 million views online.
From 2018 to 2020, a total of 9 teams from our university have made it to the Hult Prize Impact Summit through the Hult Prize On-Campus Challenge, competing with global changemakers on the stage and exchanging ideas.
In 2021, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) will welcome over 20 teams from all over the world who have passed the On-Campus Challenge to compete against the teams from our university. These teams are from Tsinghua University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, University of International Business and Economics, China University of Mining and Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Macau University of Science and Technology, Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, City University of Macau, University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Wenzhou-Kean University, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Northeast Forestry University, Varendra University, College of Home Economy, Dhaka, etc.
The teams from our university will exchange ideas with university students from all over the world, rethink the future of business, and strive to inspire students to create profitable entrepreneurial plans that are for a good cause and continue to incubate game-changing innovation. From April 21 to April 23, 2021, we look forward to the outstanding players from all over the world participating in this grand event of innovation.
