The Creative December Hult Prize Campus Final, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) 2020 Have Concluded Successfully.


A total of 28 teams and 95 students were selected to participate in the competition, among which 6 teams reached the finals to jointly compete for the qualification of the Hult Prize Regional Summit (Asia Pacific Regional Competition). This year's challenge, with the theme of "Food for good" (Transforming Food into a Vehicle for Change), was designed to encourage students from all over the world to find a socially beneficial and profitable business model. The competing teams all put forward their own insights and practical business solutions to the Transforming problem.​

The competition scene was very enthusiastic. The judges' sharp comments, the audience's positive feedback and the players' careful answers made the competition scene a feast of thoughts.

Finally, after careful and intense discussion by the judges, The ReKOPI team was the champion and directly promoted to the Hult Prize Regional Summit (Asia Pacific Regional Competition), Armada team won the second place, Healthappy team won the third place, and the judges presented certificates and took photos for the winning team together.

The first, second and third place would receive RMB 10,000, RMB 5,000 and RMB 3,000 project funding support respectively.

At this event, Professor Michael Ferguson, Senior Vice Dean of school of Economics and Management at CUHK (Shenzhen), delivered a thanks speech to the distinguished guests, the participating teams and the audience, on behalf of the School. He pointed out that each of the six finalists had their own strengths, and all of the events exhibited by each team had their own impressive characteristics. He believed that each team would also gain great experience in this competition. For students, whether they have reached the semifinals or finals or presented their final ideas perfectly, participating in this competition is a good learning process and will provide valuable experience for their future work, study and life.

The judging panel of this competition spans the academic and industrial sectors and has a strong lineup. They are comprised of Dr. Paul Kwan, executive director of BNI; Mr. Tse, Managing Director of TPG Capital; Mr. Zhou Chengning, Managing Partner of Hong Kong Science &Technology Innovation; and Ms. Meng Junfeng, managing Director of Zoomlion Fund.

The tutor team of the Challenge also has star lineup, including Ms. Zhang Tiantian, Vigo Technologies Inc co-founder; Dr. Zhang Guang, head coach of Entrepreneurship Education Center of Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University; Ms Ding Na, founder of Daily Hero; Mr. Li Mengchun, CCB Kaiping Public Welfare Business Division Manager; Dr Chen Shanquan, lecturer of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Chinese university of Hong Kong (Shenzhen); Mr. Chen Zheng, executive Director of Zhejiang First Arm Investment co. LTD; Mr. Li Zhonghe, the runner-up of the Hult Award at Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2018; Mr. Zheng Junyuan, founder of Hejun education; Mr. Wang Bo, vice President of Fengchangtech. Through three immersive creative trips and workshops in the early stage, the star mentors helped students form a prototype plan and upgrade their creative ideas. In the later stage of the activity, the technical, marketing and future development issues of the project were solved through one-to-one guidance, and the complete mode of this competition was finally formed.

Mr. Xie Tong, the representative of the judging panel, said, "The design of the competition structure, as well as the hardware and software facilities of the school are very impressive. The students are also very enthusiastic about the competition. All the projects presented by the participating teams have their own impressive features. The three teams that won the champion were mainly composed on the field, perfectly displaying the team's results, and more leisurely in the question-and-answer session, which was the reason why they could stand out. The ReKOPI team has come out on top because their solution is sustainable and truly viable, turning waste into treasure and using commercial value to help society and the environment.

Since the Hult Award was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), it has been inspiring young students in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with their dreams of innovation and entrepreneurship, inspiring young people to create profitable business models with good ideas, and contributing to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the world at large.
