The closing ceremony of the 2020 Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week at CUHK (SZ) and the gala for celebrating 40 Years of entrepreneurship and business miracles in Shenzhen, organized by CIDE of CUHK (SZ), took place on October 24th, 2020 and were massive success.
The slogan of this Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week is "Innovation inspires entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship drives employment". The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) has held a one-month symposium, a CIDE x AAMA innovation Boot camp, innovation and entrepreneurship seminars, related workshops and other activities to fully display the innovative environment and creative achievements of our university, and to promote the exchanges of entrepreneurship and innovation stories. It has also helped to pay tribute to entrepreneurs and business owners who have worked hard in the Greater Bay Area, pursued their dreams together, and made great contributions to Shenzhen's 40 years of vigorous development and innovative exchanges and collaborations. The event was broadcast live globally by Tencent News, with over 300,000 participants and viewers online.
Always keep the spirit of "boldness", young innovative forces shall chime in to help boost Longgang’s innovation and employment endeavors.
CIDE x AAMA Innovation Boot Camp is one of a series of activities of the 2020 National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week held by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) as a branch venue. The theme of this competition is: Use STEAM to form a feasible plan to empower the community and solve current social problems. STEAM refers to science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. The event attracted more than 100 students from dozens of schools to sign up. In the end, 50 outstanding college students from 14 local universities in Shenzhen formed a team of creators to participate in the competition, to build a communication platform for outstanding young innovative talents, and to better play the role of Entrepreneurship and innovation in driving employment. The formed plan covers many fields such as robotics, 5G, commercial aerospace, high-end manufacturing, Internet of Things, visual arts, process design, etc., fully demonstrating the diverse thinking of contemporary young college student entrepreneurs or prospective entrepreneurs and technological elements with Shenzhen specialty.
In the end, Zhan Ke, Ye Ziya, Meng Zilong, Wang Yidan and Wang Yan from three universities, respectively, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Tsinghua University Shenzhen International Graduate School and Georgia Institute of Technology, who formed the Sand Sculpture group, won the championship of this CIDE x AAMA innovation boot camp. The runner-up and third runner-up teams are the Vox Populi team and the Alpha team respectively. This innovation boot camp project explored more than 100 new job opportunities and innovative thinking helped entrepreneurship drive employment.

Shenzhen and Hong Kong collaborate on innovation, join hands in entrepreneurship, and develop in harmony.
"Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Witnessing 40 Years of Shenzhen Miracle Gala" aims at enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship exchanges, building a platform for entrepreneur exchange and investment and financing docking, discussing new models of innovation and entrepreneurship, focusing on the training of young scientific and innovative talents, and focusing on next generation tech companies. We have more than 40 academicians and experts, representatives of entrepreneurs, representatives of young entrepreneurs, and college students who provide advice and suggestions for the development of technology and industries in the Greater Bay Area. Entrepreneurs and business owners from Shenzhen and Hong Kong discussed the pandemic and the opportunities and disruptions of the digital age, the breakthroughs of digital and innovation-driven technology companies, and how Shenzhen and Hong Kong can coordinate development into a new era. They discussed the business practices of startup companies and the future of Shenzhen and provided valuable insights on the developmental direction of the Greater Bay Area.

Chairman Zhang Keke pointed out that “Shenzhen and Hong Kong should develop in coordination, make full use of the major cooperation platforms of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, increase scientific and technological research, focus on key projects and key areas, give credit to the advantages of the digital economy, accelerate the digital and intelligent transformation of industries, and improve the stability and competitiveness of the supply chain in the industry. Mr. Tao Dong brought up the topic of a community with a shared future for mankind and venture capital opportunities by analyzing the epidemic situation in China and the background of the future digital era, and he gave some professional advice on this.

The topics of the roundtable forums are "Digitalization and innovation-driven breakthroughs in science and tech enterprises", "Bay Area Innovation and Entrepreneurship-Future Technology and Business Leaders Roundtable", and "Pandemic and Digital Era Roundtable". The first group of roundtable forums was hosted by Mr. Xie Tong. Dr. Diao Yi, Mr. Chen Gang, Dr. Zhang Fan, Mr. Chen Zhibo, and Dr. Patrick Lam who had a lively discussion on the breakthroughs of digitalization and innovation-driven science and technology enterprises, changing business, industry, and business from the wave of digitalization. From a multi-dimensional perspective of society, he explained the development status of the industry and share his own insights based on his own entrepreneurial experiences.
The second round table forum was hosted by Academician Guan Boming. Mr. Pan Zhihao, Mr. Yuan Yuan, Mr. Zhou Fei, Mr. Guo Weiqiang, and Mr. Liu Dawen who exchanged views on their entrepreneurial experiences. Several entrepreneurs respectively elaborated on their entrepreneurial experience and the difficulties encountered in the entrepreneurial process. Mr. Yuan Yuan shared his wonderful entrepreneurial story and insights, and encouraged the students to "do the right things in the right way" , because who we will be in the future and how we will live in the future depends entirely on what we are doing now. Let us seize the next 20 years, build a successful self, and continue to write more bright stories." Mr. Guo Weiqiang encouraged everyone: "Let pressure become motivation. We should enjoy it. In the face of pressure, it is important to match our goals with our efforts." Pan Zhihao shared his entrepreneurial story with everyone, "Use crisis and opportunity to look at things together, in such a special situation as the pandemic. The third group of roundtable forum was hosted by Mr. Wang Fuqing, and Mr. Feng Hua, Mr. Liu Chaofeng, Mr. Zhou Chuifu, Mr. Fu Zhirong, Mr. Zhou Zhengning who discussed the digital age, a community with a shared future for mankind, and entrepreneurship and investment opportunities. Topics related to extreme connections, differentiation and decentralization in the digital age, as well as the paradox of productivity between production. The attending guests conducted multi-dimensional discussions on how to promote the development of the Greater Bay Area in the digital age from their respective professional aspects.

The opening ceremony of the CIDE Founders Millionair Club was also held after the roundtable meeting. As an innovative and creative entrepreneurship center of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), CIDE serves a large number of school and alumni entrepreneurs. As entrepreneurs mature, more and more outstanding entrepreneurial teams are formed. In order to implement the innovation-driven development strategy, build a better entrepreneurial platform for entrepreneurs, gather the wisdom of the mass innovation week at our school, and establish a form of mutual assistance for entrepreneurs, CIDE established the Entrepreneur Millionaire Club. The club is an invitation only and recommendation only organization. It needs to be current school students or graduated alumni, company founders, partners or major shareholders. The company's scale needs to be valued at more than one million RMB, or financing more than one million RMB including other membership conditions.

As the organizer of this Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week, the Longgang District Government has been playing a leading role in Shenzhen’s construction of a pioneering pilot zone for socialism with Chinese characteristics, seizing the multiple opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, and improving innovation.
